The Network Monitor Driver enables Network Monitor to receive frames (also called ) from the local network adapter. You can use the frames to detect and troubleshoot problems on .
- Open Network and Dial-up Connections in Control Panel.
- Click Local Area Connection, click the File menu, and then click Properties.
- In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, click Install.
- In the Select Network Component Type dialog box, click Protocol, and then click Add.
- In the Select Network Protocol dialog box, click Network Monitor Driver, and then click OK.
- If prompted for additional files, insert your Windows 2000 CD-ROM, or type a path to the network location of the files.
Notes
- The Network Monitor Driver is available on both Windows 2000 Professional and Windows 2000 Server.
- If you are running Windows 2000 Server, you can use Network Monitor to display and analyze the information you collect with the Network Monitor Driver.
